University of Denver – Assistant Professor of Higher Education (tenure-track)

The University of Denver’s Morgridge College of Education (MCE) invites applications for a tenure track position in the Higher Education program at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek a candidate with knowledge and understanding of higher education and its implications across the P-20 educational spectrum. We also desire a candidate with specific background or interest in working with culturally diverse and/or underserved populations.

Required Qualifications:  Candidates should have an earned doctorate (or ABD with a graduation date set before September 1, 2013) in Higher Education or a related field with a strong commitment to inclusive excellence and demonstrated experience working with diverse populations.  Demonstrated experience or demonstrated potential in teaching, research, and securing external funding are required.

Recommended Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have an established or emerging research agenda grounded in equity and policy with the demonstrated ability to inform and influence current higher education policy, practice, and research.  A strong background in one or more of the following areas is desired: student affairs and student development across a broad spectrum of education, college access and preparation; retention and persistence; high school to college transitions; higher education policy, finance, and/or governance; and community colleges. The successful candidate also should have a strong interest in working with programs that connect higher education across P-20 settings and with community stakeholders. Although interested in diverse methodological traditions, candidates with expertise using large-scale data sets are especially desirable. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior professional and administrative experiences within a higher education related setting.
