Dear Colleagues: this note is to announce two important Division G Pre-conference Workshops to be held on Friday (26 April 2013) in San Francisco (for additional details,please see attachments). They are as follows:
· “Introduction to Social Network Theory and Analysis.” Participants will use software designed specifically to conduct network analyses. This workshop will be led by Cecilia Ríos-Aguilar, Claremont Graduate University, and Manuel González Canché, University of Georgia.
· “Mapping Educational (In)Opportunity: A Hands-On Workshop That Explores GIS as a Research and Policy Tool for Social Change.” This workshop will also be led by Ríos-Aguilar, along with Veronica Vélez, University of California, Berkeley, and Nancy Guarneros, Claremont Graduate University.
